Spring 2006 saw the setting up of the first Matt Sheppard Summer racing Club. Over twenty members subscribed to the Racing Club and Dubai Dreams a six year old gelding was purchased to run under the Summer Racing Club banner. Members had a very enjoyable time, with Dubai Dreams going to the races seven times, and although he never managed to win, members did visit the winner’s enclosure on four occasions when he was placed in races at Ludlow, Stratford (twice) and Worcester.

Matt will not be running a Summer Racing Club in 2008 but one is planned for 2009.

Membership benefits will include:

A welcoming pack containing a welcome letter, membership card and certificate together with a photograph of the horse and bloodlines.

A horse to follow throughout the summer with the intention to run at our local courses.

Stable visits including a chance to see the horse work in the morning.

Social events. We intend to have a hospitality box at either Stratford or Worcester races so we can enjoy a day’s racing to the full. We will also have an end of season Club lunch in September.

A badge for entry to the races when the Club horse runs.

Regular updates on running plans and stable news.

If the Club horse wins or is placed each member will receive a dividend to 1% of the total net prize money.
