It is taken as read that a high standard of facilities are required for
top class race horse training. However, there are two 'extras'
that are essential for the 'happy horse' and equine contentment is a
priority at Eastnor. Horses are naturally inquisitive (mares are positively 'nosey'
- typical women - who said that?) and a dull environment is not conducive
to a happy equine mind. Taking that on board the
loose boxes at Eastnor are 'a room with a view' for their occupants so
they can satisfy their natural curiosity.
The other requirement for the equine psyche is the daily mud/dust
bath. Race days and inclement weather allowing all the Eastnor
horses are 'turned out' into well fenced safe paddocks for at least a
couple of hours a day, allowing them to 'roll' to their hearts content
and rejuvenate as nature decrees. We are fortunate to have an excellent farrier on call and are only a few miles away from one of the foremost equine hospitals in the UK.
Any prospective owners are welcome to inspect the facilities at
Eastnor - they will not be disappointed!
