Facilities At Eastnor
Matt Sheppard takes pride in the facilities available to horses in his care.
These include well ventilated loose boxes, paddocks, horse walker, sand lunge ring and several gallops in
various lengths and gradients plus his own schooling fences.

It is taken as read that a high standard of facilities are required for
top class race horse training. However, there are two 'extras'
that are essential for the 'happy horse' and equine contentment is a
priority at Eastnor. Horses are naturally inquisitive (mares are positively 'nosey' - typical women - who said that?) and a dull environment is not conducive to a happy equine mind. Taking that on board the loose boxes at Eastnor are 'a room with a view' for their occupants so they can satisfy their natural curiosity. The other requirement for the equine psyche is the daily mud/dust bath. Race days and inclement weather allowing all the Eastnor horses are 'turned out' into well fenced safe paddocks for at least a couple of hours a day, allowing them to 'roll' to their hearts content and rejuvenate as nature decrees. We are fortunate to have an excellent farrier on call and are only a few miles away from one of the foremost equine hospitals in the UK. Any prospective owners are welcome to inspect the facilities at Eastnor - they will not be disappointed!
