Stan and Sahara & Solly's form

Stan and his ponies as ever have their own Fan Club, with that in mind we are delighted to relay their Form on the Pony Racing circuit so far this season - 2011.

February 3rd, Vine and Craven at Barbury Castle, Stans's Comments; 4th of 4 but excellent start pulled hard early then ran on again at end, huge learning curve for Solly.

February 27th,
Albrighton at Chaddesley Corbett finished 5th,  Stan's Comments; 10 ponies in her race first very wet and cold day.  Ran on well but ground heavy and did not suit Solly's action!

March 5th, Duke of Beaufort at Didmarton, finished in 5th place, Stan's Comments; 5th again, very hot race stayed on well from mid division needs to be faster from drop of the flag, Solly is learning fast.

March 19th, New Forest at Larkhill, finished in 2nd place first time out on Sahara, Stan's Comments; 2nd to a very good pony called Miss Wonderful. Mum amazed not bad for an ex polo pony!

March 27th, Hampshire at Hackwood Park, finished in FIRST place on Sahara, Stan's Comments; beat another good pony of Roger Curtis called Sunday Best.  Mum now speechless unless you were unfortunate enough to be stood in front of her when we came up the home straight! (hope you have your hearing back now).

April 3rd Ledbury at Maisemore Park, a big day for Stan riding in 2 races back to back. Stan's Comments: Finished 6th on Solly was left a bit behind at start. Quickly moving on jumped onto Sahara no drink at change, very dry in mouth having to push Solly. Sahara finished a very close 3rd but boy could do with a a drink that was very hard work.

April 10th Stan's Comments: Cotswold at Andoversford Solly was 3rd only a 4 furlong race needs further.

April 19th Cheltenham Pony Club race day at Cheltenham. Stan's Comments: Again riding both ponies one race in between this time made sure I had a drink between races. Solly ran a big race finished 3rd and got me into that famous winners enclosure. Unlucky to finish 5th in Sahara's race but we had 2 false starts which made the eventual start bad. Made up a lot of ground but there will be another day.

April 26th Croome & West Warwick at Upton, Stan's Comments: Winner on Sahara!! beating Otterburn Lady by 6 lengths, very pleased wiht ourselves. Nice to win at a local track, my last year pony eehaven Chipmunk also won for his new owner Milo Herbert.

May 1st Radnor & West & Cold Harbour Stan's Comments: 3rd on Solly, ground very firm, Dad lead me up, god he is so unfit!

May 8th, Wheatland at Chaddesley Corbett, Stan's Comments: running over a longer distance today. Won on Sahara was plum last when I went past Mum shouting on the way so I thought I had better win!

May 28th Newmarket Charles Owen Series. Stan's Comments: This was a very big step up and Sahara was 5th on the Rowley Mile course.

May 30th Albrighton Woodland at Chaddesley Corbett, Stan's Comments: 7th on Solly, she ran OK but had done enough for her first season and will be turned out for 2 months and hopefully return stronger next season.

July 31st Newbury race course, Stan's Comments: finished 7th again this class of racing just beating us.

August 6th Ascot race course, Stan's Comments: ponies 5,6,7 & 8 very close indeed but we were past the post 8th, Solly in season, some mares are not at their best whilst in season.

August 23rd Sedgefield race course, Stan's Comments: early morning start, again finished 8th out of 12, have decided to stop for the season now the top ponies are just too good for us. (Mum is pleased as diesel is bloody expensive!)

Stan won 35 points in the championship table which made him the overall winner for the season!
