Welcome to Matt Sheppard's Web Page



Matt Sheppard's stables are situated in the glorious Herefordshire countryside at the foot of the Malvern Hills and in the shadow of historic Eastnor Castle. Operating to the highest standards, facilities include well ventilated loose boxes, paddocks, horse walker, sand lunge ring and several gallops in various lengths and gradients. Matt Sheppard takes pride in offering personal attention for owners and individual attention for their horses. Owners may visit their horses at any time to see them or watch them on the gallops.  If you are interested in becoming a race horse owner, either as an individual or part owner or as part of a syndicate Matt will be happy to answer any questions you may have.  If you are already an owner looking to rejuvenate your horse or wish to add to your string please contact Matt to discuss your requirements.  All inquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence.

June 5th, Grafton, Whitfield, Point To Point, for their last run of the season Strong Weld and owner/rider Rhys Jenkins win their 5th race by clinching the PPORA. Congrats to both Mr Jenkins and Strong Weld who is trained by Mrs Nicky Sheppard. Weld is pictured further down the page.



May 3rd, Hursley Hambledon, Hackwood Park, Point to Point, Strong Weld and owner/rider Rhys Jenkins clock up their fourth success of the season taking the CA Club Members (Vet & Nov Rdrs) race!! Congrats to Mr Jenkins, Strong Weld is pictured below.





April 17th, Worcestershire, Chaddesley Corbett, Point to Point, Strong Weld wins the Confined under his owner/jockey Mr Rhys Jenkins, his third win of the season, congrats to Mr Jenkins.



April 14th at Cheltenham, Munlochy Bay wins the Cheltenham Racecourse Conferences And Exhibitions Novices' Handicap Hurdle under stable jock Liam Payter. Congrats to her owners the Blues Partnership. Munlochy Bay is pictured below.





April 6th Croome & West Warks, Upton-Upon-Severn, Point to Point, Stan Sheppard wins the 138 cm Pony Racing on Deehaven Chipmunk. Stan and 'Sam' are pictured below.





April 5th, Old Berks, Lockinge, Point to Point, Strong Weld wins The Hannick Homes PPORA Club Members Race for Veteran & Novice Riders. Strong Weld, was ridden by his owner Mr Rhys Jenkins so congrats to Mr Jenkins.



March 21st Curre & Llangibby, Howick, Point to Point, Up There wins the Mens Open by 7 lengths ridden by his usual jockey Liam Payter. Congrats to his owner Mrs Rae Jones. Up There is pictured below.





March 14th Curre & Llangibby, Howick, Point to Point, Strong Weld wins the Confined ridden by his owner Mr Rhys Jenkins, Congrats to Mr Jenkins.



February 6th Vale of Clettwr, Erw Lon, Point to Point, Up There wins the Confined under stable jock Liam Payter. A great start to the pointing season for the Eastnor Team. Congratulations to his owner Mrs Rae Jones.



December 31st Fen Edward, a son of Eastnor Stallion 'Old Leighlin' competes in the famous Hayes Golden Button Challenge steeple chase with stable jock Liam Payter on board. They finish a creditable 18th out of 32 that completed from 51 starters and were second in the non thoroughbred class. Fen Edward is for sale contact Matt or Nicky for further details.
